Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 He exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, who has neither taken to Himself a wife, nor a son! 3 The dimwit one (the devil) among us has been telling confused lies about God. 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 And indeed they imagined, even as ye imagined, that Allah will not raise any one. 7 We sought to reach heaven, but found it filled with strong guards and flames -- 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice. 13 Some of us are obedient while others are wrongdoers; it is the obedient who have found the right path, 14 but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" 15 Had they (jinn and mankind) remained steadfast in their religion (Islam), We would certainly have given them abundant water to drink 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 And [know] that all worship is due to God [alone]: hence, do not invoke anyone side by side with God! 18 And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." 19

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
