۞ Now when Moses had fulfilled the term, and was travelling with his family, he perceived a fire in the direction of Mount Tur. He said to his family: "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; I hope to bring you from there some information, or a burning firebrand, that ye may warm yourselves." 29 He was called from a tree of the blessed spot of the bank of the right side of the valley when he appraoched it, "Moses, I am God, the Lord of the Universe. 30 Throw down your staff." When he saw it wriggling like a serpent, he turned about and fled without turning. "O Moses, approach," (said the Voice), "and have no fear. You will be safe. 31 Place your hand in your pocket; it will come out sheer white but not sick. Be humble for fear of God and show these two miracles of your Lord to the Pharaoh and his officials; they are an evil-doing people." 32 He said, "My Lord, indeed, I killed from among them someone, and I fear they will kill me. 33 My brother Aaron is more eloquent than I am. Send him with me to support me and back me up. For I fear that they will reject me." 34 He said: "We will certainly strengthen you through your brother and will invest both of you with such power that they shall not be able to hurt you. With the help of Our Signs the two of you and your followers will prevail." 35 But when Moses came to them with Our Clear Signs, they said: "This is nothing but a magic that has been contrived. We never heard anything like it from our ancestors of yore." 36 Musa (Moses) said: "My Lord knows best him who came with guidance from Him, and whose will be the happy end in the Hereafter. Verily, the Zalimun (wrong-doers, polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) will not be successful." 37 Pharaoh said, "O nobles, I know of no god for you other than myself. So, Haman, burn me bricks of clay, and build me a high tower, so that I may have a look at the God of Moses, though I consider him to be one of the liars." 38 And he and his hosts were arrogant in the land, without right, and they thought that they would never return to Us. 39 Wherefore We laid hold of him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. So behold thou what like hath been the end of the wrong-doers! 40 And we made them (but) leaders inviting to the Fire; and on the Day of Judgment no help shall they find. 41 In this world We laid Our curse on them, and on the Day of Resurrection they shall be among the exiled. 42
