Al-Shams
The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the sun and its brightness 1 by the moon, which follows it, 2 And by oath of the day when it reveals it 3 By the night when it envelopeth it, 4 And by the heaven and Him Who built it; 5 And by the earth and Him Who spread it, 6 Consider the human self, and how it is formed in accordance with what it is meant to be, 7 And inspired it (with conscience of) what is wrong for it and (what is) right for it. 8 He has succeeded who purifies it, 9 And indeed failed is the one who covered it in sin. 10 The people of Thamud rejected (the truth) as a result of their rebelliousness 11 When the most wretched of them was sent forth. 12 So Allah's apostle said to them (Leave alone) Allah's she-camel, and (give) her (to) drink. 13 Then they belied him and they hamstrung her; wherefore their Lord overwhelmed them for their crime, and made it equal. 14 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. 15
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
