Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
