The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the rangers ranging 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 By the angels reciting the praise. 3 Verily your Ilah (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allah); 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – and the Lord of the sun’s rising points. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 They cannot listen to the higher group (angels) for they are pelted from every side. 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 And when they see an Ayah (a sign, a proof, or an evidence) from Allah, they mock at it. 14 And they say: Lo! this is mere magic; 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected. 16 And our forefathers [as well]?" 17 Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil)." 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 This is the Day of Judgment which ye were wont to belie. 21
