And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 So they accepted faith – We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 “Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?” 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Do you not understand? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 can lure away from God any 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards – so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
