Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 and the brooding night! 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find you wandering, and give you guidance? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 As for the orphan, do not oppress him, 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11
