The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the defrauders, 1 who, when people measure for them, take full measure, 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 It is a written book. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, “Stories of earlier men!” 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 On couches face to face. 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
