The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
