He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 when the blind came to him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 you ignore him. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 Noble and pious. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 and olives and palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 laughing, joyous; 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
