He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 to a rich man, 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.

Click or tap on "random" to go to any random page. Click or tap the triangle to the left of "random" to go to a random page before the current page, or the triangle to the right to go to a random page after the current page. Using these features of ColorfulQuran.com, you can use the right triangle or arrowhead to skim through the entire Holy Book from the first Surah, The Key (Al-Fatihah), to the last, The People (An-Nas), in a few minutes while stopping at random pages in between. This will make your readings cluster more on Juz Amma's short surahs at the end of the Quran. You can also do the same in reverse order using the left triangle or arrowhead, which will cluster your readings more at the beginning of the Holy Quran.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
