Al-Takaathur
Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 But you will soon come to know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 you would indeed, most surely, behold the blazing fire [of hell]! 6 You would see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. 8
God the Almighty always says the truth.
