Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a lofty garden, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
