Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his nation, saying: 'Give warning to your nation before a painful punishment overtakes them' 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 and He will forgive you your sins, and defer you to a stated term; God's term, when it comes, cannot be deferred, did you but know."' 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 “I then called them openly.” 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 and I said, "Ask you forgiveness of your Lord; surely He is ever All-forgiving, 10 He will send you abundant 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 ‘Whereas it is He Who created you in different stages?’ 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 how He will then return you to it and bring you forth again, 18 "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, 19 That ye may thread the valley-ways thereof. 20
