The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
