The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Merciful One 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created the human 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
