The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
