Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 [And after a time, Noah] said: "O my Sustainer! Verily, I have been calling unto my people night and day 5 but my call has only caused them to flee farther and farther away [from Thee]. 6 And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride: 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 and indeed, I spoke to them both publicly and in secret: 9 and told them, "Ask forgiveness from your Lord; He is All-forgiving". 10 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance 11 ‘And will aid you with wealth and sons, and will create gardens for you and cause rivers to flow for you.’ 12 strengthen you by (providing) you wealth and children, and make gardens and streams for you. What is the matter with you that you are not afraid of the greatness of God 13 when He has created you in stages? 14 Have you not regarded how God created seven heavens one upon another, 15 And has placed the moon therein, an illumination, and has placed the sun, a lighted lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
