Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 He will be plunged in flaming Fire, 3 and also his wife who carries the fuel, 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
