Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous shall (live) in bliss. 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 to burn therein. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
