And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 so leave with your family some time in the latter part of the night, and walk behind them. Let none of you look back. Go where you are commanded." 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And the people of the city came [unto Lot,] rejoicing at the glad tiding. 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?" 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
