Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
