Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 separating one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
