۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
