Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
