The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
