The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 Who are humble in their service, 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
