۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 Are we not then to die 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
