Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
