The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the Great News 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
