Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
