Blessed be He Who has placed in the heaven big stars, and has placed therein a great lamp (sun), and a moon giving light. 61 It is He who has made the night and day follow each other for those whom He desires to remember or He desires to be thankful. 62 The worshipers of the Merciful are those who walk humbly on the earth, and when the ignorant address them say: 'Peace' 63 And who spend the night prostrating and standing, for their Lord. 64 and who pray: "O our Sustainer, avert from us the suffering of hell - for, verily, the suffering caused by it is bound to be a torment dire: 65 it is an evil abode and an evil resting place": 66 Who are neither prodigal nor miserly in their spending but follow a middle path; 67 who do not worship idols besides God, nor without a just cause murder a soul to whom God has granted amnesty, who do not commit fornication, for those who do so have committed a sin 68 Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated - 69 But only those who repent and believe and act righteously will have their sins replaced by virtue; God is All-forgiving and All-merciful. 70 and whosoever repents, and does righteousness, he truly turns to God in repentance. 71 And those who witness not falsehood, and when they pass by some vanity pass by with dignity. 72 And they who, when reminded of the communications of their Lord, do not fall down thereat deaf and blind. 73 And those who say: our Lord bestow on us coolness of eyes from our wives and our offspring, and make us unto the God-fearing a pattern. 74 Those shall be recompensed with the highest heaven, for that they endured patiently, and they shall receive therein a greeting and --' Peace!' 75 Abiding therein; goodly the abode and the resting-place. 76 SAY [unto those who believe]: "No weight or value would my Sustainer attach to you were it not for your faith [in Him]!" And say unto those who deny [the truth:] "You have indeed given the lie [to God's message,] and in time this [sin] will cleave unto you!" 77
