And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was naught but the sinners that led us astray; 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 and no sincere friend. 101 (Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers! 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
