And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 We made in it gardens of date-palms and vines, and We caused springs to gush forth 34 That they may enjoy the fruits of this (artistry): It was not their hands that made this: will they not then give thanks? 35 Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. 36 Of the signs for them is how We separated the day from the night and thus they remained in darkness; 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 and [in] the moon, for which We have determined phases [which it must traverse] till it becomes like an old date-stalk, dried-up and curved: 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 And [it ought to be] a sign for them that We bear their offspring [over the seas] in laden ships, 41 And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. 42 And if We will, We can drown them, so there would be no help in their distress, nor would they be saved. 43 It is only by Our mercy that they are granted provision for a time. 44 When it is said to them: "Beware of what is before you and what is past, that you may be treated with kindness;" 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 They also say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak truly?' 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 They will have no time to make a will, nor shall they return to their own people. 50
