The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 And those who read (the Word) for a reminder, 3 surely, your God is One, 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, 8 To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment. 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Are they stronger in constitution, or those We created? We created them of clinging clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 When they see a sign, they laugh at it, 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 "What! When we have died and become dust and bones, will we be brought back to life again, 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil)." 18 There will be but a single blast and then their eyes will open. 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 [They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21
