The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
God the Almighty always says the truth.
