The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
