The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and extended shade, 30 And water everflowing. 31 and fruits abounding 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
