The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
