The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 About which they differ? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
