The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
