The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe unto every slanderer, traducer, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. 3 By no means. He will be thrown into Hutama. 4 What shall let you know what the Crusher is? 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
