Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
