And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 Send with us the Children of Isra'il? 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 Musa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message). 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And this is the favor with which you oblige me: You have made the Israelites your slaves. 22 Pharaoh said: "And who is this Lord of the Universe?" 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 [Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest?" 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 and he drew forth his hand - and lo! it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
