Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Reality? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 in a high Garden, 22 its fruits are near. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
