Remember Noah when he called to Us before this. We heard him and saved him and those with him from great distress; 76 and We helped him against the people who cried lies to Our signs; surely they were an evil people, so We drowned them all together. 77 AND [remember] David and Solomon - [how it was] when both of them gave judgment concerning the field into which some people's sheep had strayed by night and pastured therein, and [how] We bore witness to their judgment: 78 We made Solomon understand the law about the case and gave both David and Solomon knowledge and wisdom. We made the mountains and birds glorify the Lord along with David. We had also done to him such favors before. 79 And We taught him the making of metal coats of mail (for battles), to protect you in your fighting. Are you then grateful? 80 And (We made subservient) to Sulaiman the wind blowing violent, pursuing its course by his command to the land which We had blessed, and We are knower of all things. 81 And of the satans were some who dove for him, and worked a work beside that; and of them We were the Watchers. 82 ۞ We bestowed (the same wisdom, judgement and knowledge) upon Job. Recall, when he cried to his Lord: "Behold, disease has struck me and You are the Most Merciful of those that are merciful." 83 So We listened to him: We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his people to him, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who serve Us. 84 (Remember) Ishmael, Edris and Dhu'l-Kifl. They were men of fortitude, 85 And We brought them in unto Our mercy. Lo! they are among the righteous. 86 And Yunus, when he went away in wrath, so he thought that We would not straiten him, so he called out among afflictions: There is no god but Thou, glory be to Thee; surely I am of those who make themselves to suffer loss. 87 We therefore heard his prayer and rescued him from grief; and similarly We shall rescue the Muslims. 88 (Remember) Zachariah when he called to his Lord: "Do not leave me alone (and childless), for you are the best of givers." 89 So We answered him, and bestowed on him John, and We set his wife right for him; truly they vied with one another, hastening to good works, and called upon Us out of yearning and awe; and they were humble to Us. 90 And also recall the woman who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our spirit, and made her and her son a Sign to the whole world. 91 Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me. 92 But they tore asunder their faith into many parts. But to Us they are bound to return. 93
