THUS, INDEED, did We bestow Our favour upon Moses and Aaron; 114 and We delivered them and their people from the great distress. 115 and We helped them, so that they were victorious; 116 We gave them the enlightening Book, 117 And showed them the straight path, 118 And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation): 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 truly they were among Our faithful servants. 122 Elias too was one of the Envoys; 123 He asked his people: 'Do you not fear (Allah)? 124 Do you call on Ba'lan (the idol Baal) and abandon the Best Creator, 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?" 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 128 And We left for him among the posterity: 129 Peace be unto Elyasin. 130 It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good: 131 he was among Our believing servants. 132 And indeed Lut is one of the Noble Messengers. 133 We saved him and all his people, 134 except for an old woman who remained behind. 135 Then We totally destroyed the others. 136 You pass by (their ruined town) in the morning 137 and night: will you not take heed? 138
