۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
