Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
