▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
