And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
